FAQ

How long will a kit last?

We anticipate that your initial kit will get you through 100 learners (conservatively). This means a “fresh” IO needle placement experience for each of your learners. Eventually your skin overlay will show signs of excessive wear and tear and need to be replaced and your drill plate supply will need to be replenished.

Why peds? Do you have an adult model?

We started with infant and pediatric models because this population has the highest rates of IO malposition, and we needed a better way to train.

Yes, an adult distal femur / proximal tibia model is on the way (estimated 2027)

Do you have a humeral model?

It's on the way, estimated to be complete during 2027! We are actively working on a humeral IO trainer for adolescents and adults that has the same features of feedback and durability that you find with our pediatric trainers.

Can I really infuse fluids and meds?

Yes! We encourage your teams to practice this skill in conjunction with IO placement. No one places an IO and stands back to admire their work without giving epinephrine, fluids, or blood, so we should practice these skills together!

How often should we train?

Psychomotor skills degrade over 3 months. We recommend using COMPLETE-IO for brief, on-shift practice utilizing the booklet to guide landmarking and assessing feedback of success and failure. Get your money out of a trainer, no need to save it for peds specific training once a year

Do you accept purchase orders?

Yes, please contact us directly to use a purchase order or gather other required vendor details for your unique purchasing situation.

Are there more videos on the way?

Yes, including Assessing Success, Assessing Failure, Coupling skills practice
